This freelance project involved designing and developing a brand-new website for Prairie Agri Group Ltd., an Alberta-based company focused on agricultural asset management and investment. Understanding the Client

The team at Prairie Agri Group had three clear goals:

  1. Professional credibility – They needed something polished and modern that reflected their experience and trustworthiness.

  2. Clarity – Their current branding was minimal, so they wanted a site that was easy to navigate and clearly explained who they are and what they do.

  3. Custom design – They specifically did not want a templated or generic site—they wanted something fully custom and built from the ground up.

We began by reviewing similar companies in agriculture, finance, and land management. Through collaborative meetings and reference gathering, we identified stylistic cues that felt aligned (strong typography, muted colors, full-width layouts) and defined key pages: Home, About, Services, Team, and Contact.

UX & UI Design

I designed wireframes and mockups in Figma, focusing on:

  • A strong hero section with clean copy and a high-impact logo

  • Modular content sections for services and team bios

  • Clear, readable layout with strong typographic hierarchy

  • Subtle animations and scroll-based transitions to modernize the feel

I used a muted palette with earth tones to subtly reference prairie landscapes, while keeping everything business-appropriate and minimal.

The client provided early feedback and helped refine tone and content. We had an efficient back-and-forth that allowed me to iterate quickly while staying aligned with their expectations.

Front-End Development

Once the design was finalized, I handled the full development:

  • Hand-coded using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript

  • Fully responsive and mobile-optimized

  • Custom scroll and load animations for modern polish

  • Deployed via Netlify with simple routing and fast performance

  • No CMS: content is static and structured for long-term stability

This approach gave us complete flexibility, fast load times, and pixel-perfect control over layout.

The Outcome

The final site gives Prairie Agri Group a confident, modern online presence that works across all devices and feels true to their brand. It’s easy to maintain, elegant in tone, and entirely custom—built from the ground up with collaboration at its core.
